‘A special menu for a special venue’ – caterers fire up their imagination to create showstopping wedding feasts

July 20th 2021

The main meal on the biggest and best day of your life deserves to be special and a wedding caterer believes it has created the ultimate showstopper to leave guests talking about your big day for years to come. Wedding and events specialists Seasoned has landed a two-year deal to provide catering services at the stunning Penshurst Place and Gardens near Tonbridge, Kent.

The 14th-century manor house, once the property of King Henry VIII, features breathtaking Tudor banqueting rooms and the Seasoned team are planning a range of bespoke menus that couples and their guests can enjoy while sitting around a dramatic fire pit.

Colin Sayers, the Managing Partner at Seasoned, said: “We are delighted to be working with Penshurst Place and Gardens – a venue steeped in history which provides couples with the ultimate country retreat for their big day.

“When you have a location as extraordinary as this the food has to be fantastic, it needs to replicate its surroundings – a special menu for a special venue.

“Weddings are remarkably personal occasions which you share with your nearest and dearest. They should be full of things that mean something to the couple but can be enjoyed by everyone.

“We want to work closely with our couples to create truly bespoke menus that tell their story, celebrate who they are and will give guests a meal to remember forever as they sit around the firepit to share the best day of their lives.”

Seasoned is an independent specialist event caterer, renowned for providing a friendly tailored service of irresistible food and elegant design at some of the UK’s most desirable venues.

For four decades the expert team have mastered their craft using fresh, locally sourced, seasonal ingredients to deliver exceptional food across their innovative Michelin-inspired menus.

Signature dishes include orange zested duck breast, confit leg Kiev, Jerusalem artichoke pithivier, sweet potato purée and wilted spinach.

The new partnership will see Seasoned work with couples to offer a truly personal service, working with them as individuals to craft bespoke menus and service options in Penshurst Place’s multitude of rooms and settings that create memories to last a lifetime.

Built-in 1341 and brimming with character, the oldest part of Penshurst Place is the spectacular Baron’s Hall that displays original medieval architecture in its impressive chestnut timbered-beamed roof, open-hearth and large arched windows.

Adjoining the Minstrels gallery overlooking the Baron’s Hall, The Sunderland Room is an original east solar with portraits hung on the part-panelled and part-sandstone walls giving it more of an Elizabethan feel.

The Buttery, with gorgeous tapestries, hung on its sandstone walls, has a large open fireplace beneath a wooden ceiling and is perfect for smaller ceremonies.

Ben Thomas, General Manager at Penshurst Place and Gardens, said: “We are thrilled to be working with Seasoned to further enhance our bespoke catering options. Having seen the standard of food and service it provides, our couples can look forward to some incredible food and drink as they celebrate their big day with family and friends in a beautiful setting.”
